Alexander Dick moved with his parents, the servant Fanny Anderson and his sister Emily (Major Gordon's mother) from Jamaica to Scotland and settled in Elgin. After Archibald Dick died, the family went to live with Emily and her husband William Eagleson Gordon MD in Bridge of Allan. Here Alexander died at 27 on 20 March 1866.
